Public/Direct Bidding

Open Market Competitive Bidding is the process by which a procuring entity, based on previously defined criteria, solicites qualified general contractors to perform the scopes of their work. By offering an equal opportunity to each interested bidder, the customer is seeking the best quality for the best price. This is a required process for every government agency that issues an RFP. Competitive bidding creates a transparent environment that is open and fair to all parties involved

At Athens Building Corp., we embrace this process. We are constantly updating our bid board in order to accomodate anywhere from 20 to 40 RFP responses per calender month.

Design Build

Whether it is a Design-Bid-Build scope or a Sources Sought/FOB, Athens Building Corp. has the resources and expertise to deliver. We seek out these unique and special projects that allow us to “flex our muscles” and perform beyond the buyer’s expectations. Whether we handle the design in-house or partner with a third party design team, we strive to Build Value on every project.

We understand the sensitivety and discretion required in order to work around children. We take this responsibility seriously and we pledge the following to our clients in the education sector:

No Crimes Against Children
Contractor acknowledges that the implementation of this Contract requires Contractor, Contractor’s employees or other persons that will provide services under this Contract to have direct contact with students. Therefore, Contractor hereby certifies that neither Contractor, Contractor’s employees nor any person that will provide services under this Contract who will have direct contact with students on school property during regular school hours or during school-sponsored activities have been convicted of a felony or any offense involving the sexual molestation or physical or sexual abuse or rape of a child.

Public Safety Facilities

Drug-Free Workplace
During the performance of this Agreement, the Contractor agrees to (i) provide a drugfree
workplace for the Contractor’s employees; (ii) post in conspicuous places, available to employee; and applicants for employment, a statement notifying employees that the unlawful manufacture, sale, distribution, dispensation, possession, or use of a controlled substance or marijuana is prohibited in the Contractor’s workplace and specifying the actions that will be taken against
employees for violations of such prohibition; (iii) state in all solicitations or advertisements for employees placed by or on behalf of the Contractor that the Contractor maintains a drug-free workplace; and (iv) include the provisions of the foregoing clauses in every subcontract or purchase order over $10,000, so that the provisions will be binding upon each subcontractor or vendor.
